General

Lampworking is the art of shaping glass using a torch with flames reaching up to 1650°C.

It involves melting glass rods and manipulating them to create intricate designs, beads, flowers and other decorative pieces.

For Singaporeans, you can use your Culture Pass to purchase our Floral Workshop on the Pelago platform. For other workshops, purchase can be made on our booking site here.

Please contact Pelago Support directly for any purchase amendments or rescheduling, and they will be happy to assist you.
We do not accept rescheduling requests made one week before the event. If you are unable to attend at the last minute, you can have someone come in your place, and you just need to show their vouchers.

All purchases are strictly non-refundable.

We use borosilicate glass, also known as hard glass.

While durable and heat-resistant, items made from borosilicate glass should still be handles with care to avoid breakage.

Use a blow ball to blow any accumulated dust.

Avoid dropping or exposing the items to direct heat, such as near open flames or direct afternoon sun.

Workshop

It will be 2 hours long, with fixed time allotted to each process based on the type of workshop you are attending.

As beginners, it is necessary to understand the nature of glass and be familiar with specific techniques beforehand. The guided workshop is meant to help you get the basics. As such, there will be no deviation from the intended workshop.

No, all workstations are single-use. To guarantee a safe, quality experience and dedicated access to the torch, each purchased slot is for one participant only.

For the Floral workshops, the catered time is sufficient for one flower. You may explore purchasing open studio credits to explore your creativity.

For Mini Bouquet, the number depends on your crafting pace, with a maximum of 5/7 pieces as advertised.

Due to the high-risk nature of lampworking (involving open flames and high heat), all participants must be at least 16 years of age.
For participants under 18: Minors cannot legally sign a liability waiver; a parent or legal guardian must complete the form on their behalf. You may fulfil this requirement by having a parent or guardian accompany the participant to the studio to sign the waiver in person. OR you may CC your parent or guardian on your booking email. They can then sign the attached waiver and return it to us digitally before the session. No refunds will be issued if waivers are not signed by your parent or guardian.

Please drop us an email @ enquiries@gurasuhouse.com to express your interest. Indicate your booking email address and preferred time slot, and we will get back to you within one working day.

Please take note that you must first complete a Gurasu House Beginner Workshop. The Intermediate workshop is designed to significantly expand your skill set, and the successful completion of the beginner level ensures you have the foundational safety and handling skills needed to follow through the lesson.

Please note that all workshops are conducted in English. To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone, it is essential that participants fully understand the technical instructions and acknowledge the safety waiver. In accordance with our Terms & Conditions, we reserve the right to decline participation if safety protocols cannot be followed; in such cases, refunds will not be issued.
